Injambakkam is a quasi parish located on the east coast road, 2kms away from Vettuvankeni,
was previously a substation of the parish of Vettuvankeni. St. Thomas is the patron of the parish of Injambakkam.
St. Thomas Church, Injambakkam was announced as a quasi parish by diocese of Chinglepet on june 2014 comprising Injambakkam,
Panaiyur, Akkarai and Uthandi.The newely created quasi parish is 47 years old having a catholic population of 400 families.The church was first
started as a social service center by Rev. Fr. P.T..Arullapa to help the local fisherman community and others. Priests from Besant nagar and
Vettuvankenni came and said mass on Saturdays. After few years Sunday mass was started here at 8 am.
The feast of St.Thomas is celebrated in the moth of last week of June and first week of July.
